Synopsis
Oasis: Supersonic Full Hd Movie: In the fall of 1995, I was living in England when Oasis released their album Morning Glory? hit the shelves. It’s impossible to describe to non-attendees how large this event was on a national scale. I haven’t seen anything like that here in the States since. Oasis were more than simply a musical sensation; they were the greatest story in the nation.
The band and its flamboyant but antagonistic brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher, became the subject of major tabloid headlines. Even when the band is surprised by how many people at shows know the lyrics to even its new songs, the new documentary on Oasis, “Oasis: Supersonic,” perfectly portrays this sense of immediate fame.
In the space of two albums, 1994’s Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory, the boys from Oasis went from getting high at their mother’s home and doing modest performances to becoming massive sensations. However, “Supersonic” concentrates nearly exclusively on that climb, providing insight into how they rose to the top of the world. Even if it falls short of explaining why they did not remain there long.

“Oasis: Supersonic” does not shy away from the tabloid aspect of Oasis, and the stories about Liam Gallagher’s “bad boy behavior” are well-known. Before it even gets started, Liam has been likened to a Ferrari (fun but hazardous), and terms like “head cases” and “out of control” have been used.
And the film is based on what Oasis did: the unusual relationship between Liam and Noel Gallagher. Which resulted in both wonderful music and awful days on stage and behind the scenes. Noel compares himself to a cat and Liam to a dog: Noel wants to be alone, producing songs and doing his own thing, whilst Liam need attention and affection. “One of the finest lines is “Liam has a lot of fingers, and Noel has a lot of buttons.”
Most Oasis fans recognized at the time, and it’s evident today, that Noel was an outstanding composer. His songwriting for the first two albums (which the film concentrates mostly on, to its fault) is breathtaking. Essentially, filmmaker Mat Whitecross’ film conveys the sense that Noel’s musical ability was a gift from God.
